We all love a good mad lib! So I thought why not use it to make math word problems more fun! The best part is that students are just changing minor details in the problems (i.e. names, objects, food, events, locations) that way all the math work and answers are the same! I included an answer key as well! Keep the fun of personalizing it without more work of finding 25 different answers for every problem!

Visualizing Decimals (expanded form, comparing, rounding)

Are your students struggling to visualize decimals? My students struggled to picture what a "thousandth" or a "hundredth" really meant. I had students asking me if decimals were negative numbers... I knew then that expanded form, comparing decimals and rounding decimals was going to be tough if they weren't able to picture what a decimal was. That's when I came up with this method of "building" and visualizing decimals. Tenths = dimes Hundredths = pennies Which that's pretty straightforward... b
