These comprehension roles are used in a research based strategy called reciprocal teaching to help students dive deeper into any text, grow in leadership and build comprehension capabilities. The 4 roles students will engage with are the predictor, clarifier, questioner and summarizer. This bundle includes posters to teach the roles, table tents to help guide conversations and notes pages to keep students on track!

Use these table tents to guide book conversations for reciprocal teaching. Each student has a designated role (leader, predictor, clarifier and questioner). In teaching upper elementary and middle school it can be hard to grade and classify writing! Here is a writing progression that can be used all year and through different genres of writing! The scale goes from 1-11. In order to score for example a "5" students must have all the criteria for the previous numbers as well. This is also a great way for students to set goals of how they can up-level their writing!
