An 8 question quiz on rates. Students have to know how to simplify ratios, find the unit rate and solve word problems on the topic. The entire test was worth 10 points. I made problems 1-6 are worth 1 point and problems 7-8 worth 2 points. An 8 question quiz on percents! I have a reminder at the top of the test for students to remember what the words “of” and “is” mean in math. I allow them to use either decimals or fractions in your math - whichever you prefer! I also make my students estimate their answers! (A lot of times students will do a problem completely wrong and because they lack the conceptual understanding or number sense, they don't notice that their answer is completely wrong or not possible!)

20-question quiz that can be used as a 10-point or 20-point quiz. Great way to pinpoint which concepts with plotting coordinate planes students understand or have difficulty with.

In my math class I offer test corrections for the students to not only earn points back but learn from their mistakes. I pass this paper out with every test, go over all of the requirements again and encourage the students to take the time to do the corrections. I don't limit the students who can do the retakes - any student can do the corrections whether they got an F or a B. I change the name of the test and the date that the corrections are due on the paper for each exam's test corrections.
