I've created a version of Cornell Notes for science which works as a great way to keep students engaged in class. Note-taking help students organize their thoughts and can (and should) be used to study the content learned in class. The illustration column gives students an opportunity to picture what was learned. And if taught to label their illustration to create a diagram, it engages them much more!
