A super fun activity to build team working skills that can be used anytime of the year. I enjoy it as a beginning of the year icebreaker activity. Teams must stack cups in different arrangements without using their hands. Instead, they are required to work tougher and use a rubber band with four strings tied to it to try and move the cups around. I guarantee there will be plenty of laughter and tears of joy/sorrow as students excitedly work towards accomplishing the three different challenges.
All materials are completely editable to suit your own needs! This comes with the presentation slides, two articles related to the project (Newton's Laws and Conservation of Energy), and worksheets (introduction, design, questions for the articles and grading rubric). Introduce properties of the cell membrane by having students perform a hands-on lab ( video link) and complete this worksheet to go along with the lab. The worksheet has students describe the structure of the cell membrane by looking at an image and answering questions on the front. On the back, there is a table that has students draw models and explain why each property observed in the Cell Membrane Bubble Lab is important to a cell's survival. T

Two easy-to-do labs that demonstrate how mass affects the thermal energy of a system. See experiment here: https://youtu.be/z29s2ZDgsSI Use this worksheet for collecting data, modeling observations, and showing the type of relationship between variables (directly or inversely proportional) on a conceptual graph.
