Make sense of solving 2-step equations! This digital lesson is designed to help students understand what is happening when we solve for the variable so you can stop saying the word "cancel." You can show when there is a sum of zero, which is nothing, so you no longer need it. You can show when you have 1... and 1 xylophone is the same as a xylophone, so you no longer need the coefficient. This lesson includes 2 completed examples4 examples to do as a class or to create a video lesson (2 ver

To practice finding area of a circle, students can find the area of a donut! 10 problems to master finding area of a circle and understand composite area. The first 8 problems have work space for students to show the area of the larger circle, the area of the smaller circle, and the difference. The last 2 problems have space for work, but students need to show their own steps. Keywords: composite area, compound area, annulus, donut, doughnut, area of circles, pi, test prep.

Teaching style

It's my goal to create middle school math lessons that reduce math anxiety and encourage students to try. I want every student engaged in math and to feel successful. If you are looking to increase student engagement, especially with students who "aren't good at math," I want to support you on their journey to success!
