Substantial Prime Number Neat Numbers, order of operation, exponents, mental math

This prime set of Neat Numbers is intended to supplement work with learning essential number properties and operations at all levels in el-hi education . . . from First Grade to Calculus. Two of my major goals in teaching math have always been, first, to show how what we’re learning can be used and, second, to blend the “topic for the day” with other subjects whenever possible (integrate subjects and teach cross-curricularly, as it were). To that end, each of the 71/73 Neat Numbers is nea

Neat Numbers,Dang You're Fast Math,necessary arithmetic,exponents,mental math

This "two-volume" set of problems and puzzles should be all any school needs for their students to master those parts of arithmetic now needed in today's world . . . math or otherwise. The student will NOT have to do 568 x 47. That's for the calculator. The problems in this offering concentrate on those operations which should be done with no calculator. The problems herein work on mastering powers that should be known, and properties that are quite useful in computations. Major tests test

Teaching style

Jay Waggoner and Matt Lora agree that students and teachers will have success in the math classroom by using 3 simple rules. 1) Teaching and Learning has to be FUN! 2) Students must memorize basic facts about numbers and their operations. 3) Monitoring of student performance must be weekly and should be cumulative using calculator and non-calculator assessments.
