I have worked as an early intervention therapist, providing home-based special instruction to children from diverse backgrounds and with various impairments and developmental delays for over a decade. In my current employment, I often identify and refer children with speech and language disorders, cognitive impairment, sensory integration dysfunction, and autistic spectrum disorder. I consult and co-treat with other professionals in the field of early intervention, including occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, and medical professionals.

Experience

I have worked as an early intervention therapist, providing home-based special instruction to children from diverse backgrounds and with various impairments and developmental delays for over a decade. In my current employment, I often identify and refer children with speech and language disorders, cognitive impairment, sensory integration dysfunction, and autistic spectrum disorder. I consult and co-treat with other professionals in the field of early intervention, including occupational therapists, speech and language pathologists, and medical professionals.

Teaching style

A mix of formal and facilitator approaches, with the ultimate goal of having children work independently.

I have received numerous awards from both the families I have served and my current employer, the largest pediatric rehabilitation health system in the United States.

My own education history

I graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and earned my Master of Science in Education from Long Island University. I am currently pursuing certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
