This is a set of 20 task cards designed for kids just learning how to multiply a number by a power of ten. Each card presents a number multiplied by a power of ten, or presents the "before" and "after" number for the kids to determine which power of ten was used. All powers of ten are positive. Some starting numbers are whole numbers and others are decimals. The preview title slide show both formats used for the cards.
These were designed to support the grade 5 Common Core standard 5.NBT.3.
This is a set of 20 task cards designed for kids just learning how to write a number as a single-digit multiplied by a power of ten. The focus is on writing numbers that are multiples of ten (300; 4,000; 70) using the exponent format. This objective was recently added to fifth grade in my district as part of our Common Core transition, and these cards were designed for fifth grade students who are beginners with this format.
