Experience

I have worked in public and title 1 elementary schools since 2000. I have worked in Georgia and am now currently teaching in South Carolina.

Teaching style

I use research based strategies in my lessons. For instructional math videos, I incorporate a 3-reads model for problem solving. I use modeling and guided practice throughout the instruction.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I am a two-time Teacher of the Year (once at Rollins Elementary in Augusta, GA and again at Shanklin Elementary in Beaufort, SC.) I was one of 5 teachers selected as a finalist for District Teacher of the Year in Beaufort, SC for the 2019-2020 school year.

My own education history

I received a Bachelors of Education in 2000 at Paine College in Augusta, GA; Masters of Education in Instructional Technology from Troy University; Specialist in Education in Technology in Education from Lesley University.
