Print, cut, glue, and laminate onto a piece of cardstock or poster paper. Students can practice writing on it with a dry-erase marker. Product preview is an example of how a Deaf Ed student used it for a STAAR independent practice writing prompt comparing passages about Rosa Parks and Ruby Bridges.

Storybook Time is an important part of the Foundations for Literacy Curriculum. I made this ASL vocab and CROWD questions resource to use in the classroom during the unit. I also sent a copy home for families to practice the vocabulary and ask their Deaf and hard-of-hearing kids comprehension questions as an extension into the home. I used this for direct instruction lesson and as sub-plans in my Deaf Ed first-grade science class. The students will review vocabulary with the teacher and then have a teacher-facilitated group discussion about interdependence at the end after the video stimulus, "Presto".
