During the holidays I have students write about three wishes they have during the holiday season; one wish is for themselves, one for their family, and one for the world. They then write them out on the lined light bulb paper and finish it up by choosing a colored bulb to top off the writing. A fun and festive way to decorate the classroom is put the lights up with some crinkled black butcher paper to make them look like a string of holiday lights.

I do this art project every January in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Most times our class will learn about Martin Luther King Jr.’s early life, accomplishments, and legacy and write a multi paragraph essay.
