Work Based Learning Student Folder

Created by
WorKHouse
This folder serves as the parent/student paperwork for the Work-Based Learning program--from liability to photography to insurance. Students are able to fill it out with their parents and return it the WBL Coordinator. The Coordinator may use the folder to record hours and pay and use it to keep up with any documents the students turn in throughout the year.

Additional biographical information

Please bear with me as I alter and change as I go--constantly improving, I hope! A little about me: I have been a WBL Coordinator in Georgia for 25 years. I've been through ALL the changes and am still standing. A couple years ago I felt lost. We, as coordinators, no longer had an in-person course with our students. They left campus and we monitored them. There was little guidance; just "make them do a portfolio and do some journals". It felt disjointed and insignificant. I felt like my students were leaving my program with no more than they came in with. All other subjects were moving to Standards-based instruction and WBL was just left to figure out what that was and where it fit in. That's when I figured out I needed to make my program more rigorous and relevant. I needed to reach the students WHERE they were (which was not in my classroom). I came up with the weekly pamphlet idea. It's quick and easy and encourages writing, communication, and higher order thinking. This year I spent time adding an Extending Activity to each pamphlet--multiple uses for it--kids not working, second year students, students in ISS or HHB. I also rearranged all my pamphlets so they make sense (to me at least). This year, I am adding an additional 36 topics for my 2nd year students. Bear with me, they are getting done much slower--I'm old- what can I say?. If you are interested in the Google forms that I use (online learning, yo--who knew???), just shoot me a message and I'll send you a copy of those when you purchase the pamphlet. Also, if you want the Publisher version of these, let me know that too. (I think I'm the last person to use Publisher!) Anyway, thanks for looking at my page. There's some free stuff and some other stuff that I hope you want to pay for! :)
