This booklet provides ideas and resources for teachers to start their Mathematics lesson. Whilst the content is suitable for many year groups, many of the tasks have been used for students up to Year 12 to help them "warm up" and settle into a Mathematics lesson. The aim is for most tasks to be within reach of the majority of students, with the possibility for able students to extend themselves. Tasks are designed to be short and easy to follow.

This booklet has a series of 10 x 10 grids and blank times tables that can be used for students to practice their times tables and recognise patterns in the results. This booklet investigates how to mutliply two two-digit numbers using a quick method which can be justified by expanding a pair of brackets. It then takes this idea further and asks students to investigate the product of a two-digit number with a three-digit number, then the product of two three-digit numbers.
