Teaching style

I integrate technology to enhance student learning and challenge them to think creatively through hands-on experiences. My teaching style is direct and structured, yet I empower students with choice and active learning opportunities. I use songs to reinforce concepts—students sing them on their way to lunch, during tests, or anytime because they stick! I’m a huge fan of YouTube for its amazing educational songs—huge thanks to those talented creators who bring science to life!

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have been awarded technology grants, equipping my students with mini-laptops, a document camera, a smartboard, and a slate to enhance learning. I have served on curriculum development teams, represented my campus for STEM initiatives, and mentored fellow educators. Selected for leadership training from a competitive pool of applicants, I take pride in my students' success, consistently achieving top growth and achievement in 8th-grade science on benchmarks and state tests!
