With over twelve years of experience as an educator, I began my career in the elementary 6th-grade classroom, where I taught for three years. I made a move to middle school because of my love of all things history, but soon found it was not only the curriculum that made me happy but seeing my hormonal-surging, bright-eyed, too-much-drama, I-was-sad-but-now-I'm-happy, students. Teaching style
My classroom is always a safe environment for my students, where academic and emotional risk-taking is encouraged. Whether asking a question or standing in front of their peers, respect, courtesy, and kindness are always shown. I strive to create lessons incorporating various learning modes (auditory, kinesthetic, visual, etc.). Connecting to real-world experiences and incorporating higher-level forms of questioning is paramount to a successful learning experience.
