Description

These Measurement & Line Plot math activities help students practice measuring to the nearest inch, half-inch, and quarter-inch while creating and analyzing line plots. Students measure objects, read rulers, plot data on number lines, and answer questions using measurement data.

A reusable Math Notes Math Mat is included to help students organize measurement data, create line plots, and record observations during math centers, small groups, or independent practice. Digital options are also included!

Learning Goal: I can measure the lengths of various objects to the nearest whole, half, or quarter inch. I can organize the measurements on a line plot.

The Problem with Guided Math

- One big problem with guided math is not knowing what to assign for math centers.

- It can get especially overwhelming when pulling math games from various places. Teachers end up wasting lots of time explaining directions and students get off task because they are confused.

- Holding students accountable for their work during math centers is important. You want students to record their work, but then you don’t have extra time to check or organize all the recording sheets.
