Make 8th Grade End of the Year Review FUN and ENGAGING with this creative Math Mugshot activity! Students practice exponent rules, scientific notation, composite volume, functions, systems of equations, transformations, distance on the coordinate plane, and writing equations from graphs, tables, and ordered pairs. Perfect for test prep, end-of-year review, math stations, or independent practice while reinforcing critical algebra and geometry skills.

No prep. Just print and go! This activity will keep your students engaged, focused, and smiling while they reinforce important math skills.

Students solve the problems and use their answers to determine the physical features of a mystery character. As they match each answer to the correct feature, they draw the character on the "mugshot" template. If students solve the problems correctly, their final drawings will match the completed character so grading is a breeze!

  • Find the volume of a composite figure
  • Determine how many time larger one number is than another (scientific notation)
  • Identify ordered pairs that would make a relation a function
  • Determine the number of solutions of a system
  • Find the distance between 2 points on a coordinate plane
  • Determine the number of solutions of equations (variables on both sides)
  • Write and solve a system of equations (real world situation)
  • Perform a sequence of transformations
  • Write equations for functions given a graph, a table, and 2 ordered pair (compare slopes)
