Description
I developed this resource to help facilitate students' learning of Rhetorical Devices (Rhetorical Choices). This slide deck (93 slides) contains hyperlinks to instructional videos on my YouTube Channel Rhetorical Analysis Playlist as well as the video lesson where I walk through these slides. The slides are colorful and use visual thinking strategies to help students remember choices like "asyndeton" and "juxtaposition." Rhetorical Devices/Choices included are: repetition, parallelism/parallel structure, alliteration, juxtaposition, asyndeton, polysyndeton, analogy (metaphor/simile), colloquialism/colloquial language; irony (verbal irony, sarcasm, understatement, overstatement litotes,) and rhetorical questions. Students like this resource because they can return to it at any point before the exam -- and have also used it in college, too! The preview below is the full slide deck, watermarked for preview purposes. I have included screen shots of additional materials in this file.
