Description
This listing is for my Gingerbread House PBL. Students will be given a 12 slide Google Slides™ Presentation. They first build a gingerbread house out of cardstock and decorative items (straws, pipe cleaners, cotton balls, etc). Then they will use the dimensions of their gingerbread house and update floor, roof, walls, landscaping, etc and then solve math problems to go with it. This project is very open ended and allows students to not only be creative but solve the problems in multiple ways.
In this PBL students will practice the following skills:
Budgeting
Multiplication
Area & Perimeter
Math Puzzles
I like to give this assignment to my students during math workshop. I typically given them an entire week to work on it.
You or your students will need to provide cardstock/construction paper, tape/glue and any other decorative items. I usually provide straws, cotton balls and pipe cleaners.
Students will need access to a computer and both you and the student will need access to Google Drive™. You DO NOT need Google Classroom™ to assign this activity to students.
