Description

Classification project perfect to wrap up your classification unit. Students must classify 12 newly discovered species on an alien planet and make up their own kingdoms, phyla, and classes.

The classification project includes instructions to make a dichotomous key, creature cards, and answer 10 group discussion questions.

The alternate differentiated version of the classification project includes slightly different discussion questions.

What's included:

☞ Description of 12 alien organisms discovered on the Jungle Planet.

☞ Directions and template to create kingdom, phyla and classes (though students can make up their own diagram if they wish).

☞ Blank template for dichotomous key.

☞ 2 pages of group discussion questions (and alternate version).

☞ Blank creature cards for artist interpretation and easy-to-read names

☞ Note to teacher with suggestions

☞ Examples of student work

☞ Answer Key

☞ Editable version of project
