I've used this lab 3 years in a row and it is definitely a favorite. Prep is easy and fairly low cost, and the results are very neat. The students enjoy doing the mashing, mixing, and filtering a lot. There are always messes but the materials are easy to clean up. The worksheet that summarizes the lab helps focus the main takeaways.

My students enjoyed this lab a lot! It was easy to implement in the classroom. I appreciated that since I am a special education teacher that teaches multiple subjects throughout the day. This went really well in my class and made for a great day! The reflection questions were thorough and the lab procedures were detailed.
