Great/simple pictures to help students clarify this NGSS PE. My students had difficulty answering the short answer question though from using only the handout. I needed to scaffold (which is fine). For example "and using appropriate scientific vocabulary," I added a list of terms I wanted students to use in their answer and then they highlighted them. Coming from a setting with a large number of students per class this also helped me with grading :) and helped students self-assess. If leaving this assignment for a sub, may want to write in terms on the handout before photocopying. :) Great assignment though.
