This PPT walks through the steps of the digestive system. The PPT was created to be used with guided notes worksheet that is included. The words that are in red are the ones that students will need to fill in on the worksheet. Feel free to use this feature or you can change all the words back to black if you don't want to use it!

This PPT and it's guided notes component is a clear and precise explanation of the digestive system. I start off by having students discuss what would slowly happen to their bodies if they decided to stop eating. I then show a clip (link included) that walks them through what happens between that first hour and eventual death.

Students then take guided notes on the steps of the digestive system as well as the relevant organs. After the small intestine slide, I have students estimate the size of their small intestine and then show a clip of a doctor that actually has a real human small intestine to demonstrate that it can be up to 20 feet in length. I end with 5 slides that are check for understanding questions.
