Description

Use these 8 cards for interactive test prep, review, or assessment. Testing is stressful, relieve some pressure by making your review collaborative! The cards can be used in a variety of contexts: whole group, guided reading, intervention groups, or as partner work. To support distance learning, this resource has been updated to include a digital version.

This is a sampler of my Reading Test Prep Bundle. It includes task cards from larger collections of task cards:

Main Idea

These 2 task cards include a short, non-fiction passage. Following the passage are four statements that attempt to express the main idea. Students select the best one.

Character Inferences

These 2 cards feature a short fiction passage. Students are asked to select the best inference from a list of four.

Vocabulary--Context Clues

These 2 task cards are open-ended rather than multiple choice. Students read the short passage, then use context clues to infer the meaning of an underlined word. Students record their thinking on a small graphic organizer.

Vocabulary--Multiple-Meaning Words

These 2 task cards feature a short, non-fiction passage. Students read the passage, then read a dictionary definition for the underlined word. Students choose which definition best fits the way the word was used in the passage.

Includes an answer key and student recording sheet. Also included is a list of tips for how these cards can be used in your classroom.
