Here's a collection of thematic math and literacy activities to support your science teaching about plants in the primary grades. Grow your students' science vocabulary faster by using cross-curricular activities!

24 math task cards that will strengthen your kindergarten and first grade students’ skills in adding and subtracting, one through ten.

Choosing from four numbers, your students will discover Ms. Cactus' mystery number by adding and subtracting to eliminate three of the options. These cards are ideal discussion starters (number talks) and are a great way to get a quick peek into how your students are thinking and solving problems.

The same 24 riddles in a printable worksheet format (four riddles per page). Great for standardized test prep, substitute teachers, and students who were absent when you introduced or used the cards. Also perfect for sending with students who are going on extended family vacations!

The math riddle set also includes a student recording page, answer key, board game, and themed number lines.

20 plant vocabulary riddle cards and coordinating answer cards, for words like root, stem, tree, cactus, petals, shovel, seedling, greenhouse, and a dozen more.

I was a college student planning my thematic unit. When I finally got to use this in the classroom, the kids loved it. Very engaged and thought it was different than the normal math worksheets!
