Here are some ways you might use this set of plant riddle cards and activities!
* To reinforce your science teaching of vocabulary about plants
* As a whole class or small group activity, to demonstrate how to integrate the information in the clues, use the information to eliminate incorrect choices, and draw conclusions based on evidence.
* As a pocket chart center matching activity: riddles to answers
* As a matching activity, with three sets of mix-and-match cards: picture cards, word
cards, and picture / word cards, for independent, small group, or center use.
* As a small group or literacy center game, using the matching cards as calling cards with the six bingo boards that are included
* As the basis for a riddle-writing activity, with the template that's included in this set
* As a cross-curricular activity, complete a class graph about plants
Solve a riddle a day every day to give your students daily practice inferring, identifying and answering key questions, and building vocabulary. These riddles are a form of informational text. Solving riddles is a fun-filled and engaging way to lay the groundwork for early comprehension skills!
