The 7 page mini-lesson teaches students the basic parts of a power, how to read and write exponents, how to find the value of powers, as well as how to calculate perfect squares. A short worksheet activity will reinforce these pages which you can also use as class posters.
The task cards provide 24 problems and ask your students to write powers, find the value of powers, and determine if a number is a perfect square. These task cards come in standard format (4 to a page) and in projectable format (1 to a page) for ease and flexibility within your classroom.
An answer recording sheet and an answer key are both included for your use.
You will receive a zipped file. In that zipped file are 2 PDFs. One PDF is the paper version of this resource. The other PDF contains the directions to Google Classroom as well as the links to the digital files. Please make sure you have the ability to unzip and extract files before purchasing.
For the digital files you will receive two links inside a PDF, the links are to a Google Slides resource and a Google Forms resource. The slides resource utilizes the mini-lesson, practice problem, and task cards, while the forms resource presents the task cards more as a quiz to allow for quick and easy grading.
