Music Solfege/Rhythm Lesson Planning Guide

The Solfege/Rhythm Organizer is a series of charts I created that show the order the Solfege/Rhythm should be taught in (Kodaly philosophy), the songs to use, references the books the songs are in, has lesson plans and comments and developmental levels. I use it in my lesson planning book to plan Elementary Music Lessons K-5. I created this after I was certified in Kodaly. Meets the following National Standards for Music Education 1. Singing, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music.

Teaching style

Communicating the joy of music is what I seek. Kodaly and Piano Lab are my two main emphasis (the majority of my students can play the piano with both hands by 5th grade). A major thread of composing is throughout K-5 with a culminating project in 5th grade that grants them a CD of their own work. We also do Recorder Karate in 4th grade. Our biggest performance is the 3rd grade Multicultural Concert staging Music and Dance classes which integrate with 3rd grade classroom studies and includes Art Class displaying their work on the walls.
