division story problem centers and chart
I have typed nine real life scenarios for students solve division problems. The stories are coded with graphics to help coordinate their record sheet. I use manipulatives at each station to aide include tactile learners. Manipulatives can be placed in a plastic bag. For example at the station in which balloons are being divided, balloons can be placed in a bag. This lesson is very engaging and fun. I use it in my 3rd grade class but it could also be used for 2nd or 4th.

Distributive Property Cookie Crisp Activity
This is a resource that can be used for practicing the Distributive Property of Multiplication. It works best if you laminate and use dry erase markers.
How it works:
Give your students a multiplication problem.
Using the Cookie Crisp Cereal, they create an array on the cookie sheet.
They then use a popsicle stick to turn their array into two arrays and write them down.
Finally, students solve for the product.

Save Tom the Turkey! (Math Activity)
Students will solve math word problems as they try to save Tom the Turkey from becoming somebody's Thanksgiving Dinner. I created this for my higher level 2nd graders in order to really challenge them, and they loved it. It's a fun story, and they enjoyed the math. It features addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division within multi-step word problems. I think it would also work well for 3rd graders who need some reinforcement with their math skills.
