Dean Russo Art project
This is a 1 to 2 class period complete general art lesson which requires no special materials and is no prep and highly engaging for any elementary grade. It can easily be adapted to higher grades. Everything you need is on the power point. You will need to google images to show students Russo's artwork, but the project is described in detail and a finished example is included. You just need copy paper, markers and crayons.

Create Your Own Atlas Project
This is a front and back page and lays out step by step how students can create their own atlas. I used this to have them create an atlas of the state of Indiana but it could be used for any state. This sheet includes great project requirements that demonstrate excellent understanding of their state through maps and state info. On the back is even a rubric that highlights the importance of not only accuracy, but also creativity in the product.

This resource is a self reflection on student projects and their work ethic. This is a great INTERVENTION for students that are falling behind due to behavioral issues. It can also help you grade students and pinpoint where they are getting sidetracked with their work. It is also an excellent way to deliver feedback on a consistent weekly basis. I have it in a weekly format for a 10 week Marking Period but this is a word document that you can alter to fit your timeframe.
