Four Quadrant Coordinate Spelling

Letters of the alphabet are scattered around the coordinate plane. I use this for students to become familiar with the coordinate plane. I pair the students up and have then encode/decode messages from each other. I have also paired with the ELA teacher to give a spelling test. The kids loved it, but it was daunting to grade. Next time, I would offer a couple of bonus words with the coordinate spelling.

Vegetable Taste Test Graph

We used this graph during "V" week in our classroom and discussed healthy eating and vegetables. We cut up all of these vegetables and gave each child a sampler plate. We tried each one by one, deciding good adjectives to describe each. At the end, we let the kids vote on which their favorite was. We graphed it on our teacher board in front of the room, and the kids transposed that information onto their own worksheet. We then asked leading questions afterwards. For example, "Which had the

Hi! I'm JoLayne Cafasso and this is one of my creations: a short and sweet worksheet to help second or third graders create a bar graph. It includes important vocabulary words and definitions students need to know in order to make the bar graph. The students are first guided by the teacher through a survey of favorite movies.
