Adding 3 Numbers - Bird Theme Complements of 10 Activity
Hello! I created this activity to give my students more practice with identifying and using complements of 10 (at my school we call them lovebirds!).
After printing, cut out the cards so that the nests are separated from the birds. Have students match the nests to the birds that represent the sum of the 3 eggs. If you are working with students as they match the pictures, have them explain their strategies verbally. Emphasize the ease of looking for complements of 10 when adding.
