Welcome to this 4th, 5th and 6th-grade fun, multi-step, critical thinking, word problem math packet. I originally designed this for my 5th-grade classroom, but most of the pages can be used for gifted or high achieving students in both 4th and 6th grade. I wrote these word problems over a number of years, and a couple of them are actually ones that students wrote. 4th Grade Math Common Core Measurement Word Problems written to challenge students. These will enrich and extend their thinking. Standards covered are 4MD2 and 4MD3 as well as 4OA3. These work extremely well as exemplars. There are three real world questions that can be solved as a whole class, in small groups or by individual students.

I created this worksheet and scavenger hunt for an all girls STEM-careers camp. The girls were ages 6-12, so we completed the worksheet together, and did the scavenger hunt in two groups based on age. The clues for the scavenger hunt will probably need to be rewritten based on the locations you have available. STEAM: Design Brief Engineering Around the World K-1
Kindergarteners and 1st graders explore STEAM principles while exploring and building structures from around the world. Students will see the structures with descriptions; be exposed to geography skills by finding the locations of those structures on a class map with the help of an adult; build their own structure; and fill out a design brief showing their finished structure and its measurements with non-standard measurements using Unifix cubes.
