Making Words Work Mat & Word Family Sorting Chart
I give the students this work mat and a strip of letters for making words lessons. They cut apart the letters and lay them on the mat under the star. Words are "made" in the bottom box, recorded on the list, and the final word is pasted in the bottom box (no more little paper letters all over the room!). Flip the paper over and record a vowel chunk from the lesson on the sorting chart. Record words from the lesson and add a few new ones. I use this form all year long!

Open House School Supply Sort Labels
You know how crazy Open House, Back to School, or the first day can be? Kids and parents arrive with all their supplies in hand and where in the world do you put all that stuff?
I have found this to be the BEST way to manage the chaos! I am sure it will work for you too.
1. Print out the category label sheets.
2. Glue them to the outside of large paper grocery bags, cardboard boxes, or plastic tubs.

How to Play: Day and Night Animal Sorting Game Prepare picture cards of animals (e.g., owl, bat, dog, cat, lion). Prepare two areas “Day” and “Night.” Mix the animal cards and place them on the table. Players take turns picking one card. The player decides if the animal is active during the day or at night. These cute little punch cards can be used to keep track of the homework activities your students turn in or as part of an individual behavior reinforcement plan.
