ISN Grading Rubric Updated
This is an updated version of my original ISN grading rubric. This emphases put more weight on note and assignment completion. I have maintained a focus on the the organizational skills of a table of contents, page numbers and dates.
For example: Consider a student who has completed all assignments and notes in entirety.
Original: The students would score an 8/20 (40%).
New: The students would score a 20/30 (66%).

Current Event Assignment and Rubric
An effective way to get students involved with what is going on in the world. The Current Event form that students will fill out includes not only a summary, but also vocabulary. The Current Event rubric is easy for teachers to score with and students to understand. I do this every Friday with my students. They expect to share them with the class. It is an effective reading and writing tool as well. Both of these forms can be modified for any grade level.

Library Code System
I use garage sale stickers and put them on small crates to hold books. For each sticker there is a symbol for the category it holds. Then, I put a number next to each category to tell the students how many crates there are for each category. I make sure to put a garage sale sticker with the matching label on each book so students can put the books in the correct crates.
