I developed this art grading rubric for middle and high school art projects. It allows student artwork to be evaluated in 5 areas - Elements of Art, Principals of Design, Creativity/Problem Solving, Craftsmanship, and Effort. The teacher can fill in specifically which Element(s) of Art, Principal(s) of Design, etc., that the project focuses on. Indicator Rubric for CAFE Reading Conferences

Visual Art Rubric
This rubric is very generic so that it can be used with any unit or lesson. It is based on a 5-1 point system in three cateregories, craftsmanship, creativity/origniality, and participation. Each point in all of the cateregories has a detailed explination of the expectations for the assignment.

Grading Rubric for Essays
After spending hours grading essays, I developed a quicker rubric that cut my time in half. I found that I was writing the same comment on many papers. This rubric has the major/common areas that need improvement: punctuation, spelling, simple word usage, lack of support/elaboration, lack of transition words, and simple sentence usage. Self-Reflection Participation Rubric
I use this self-reflection participation rubric on a weekly basis. Each Friday, my students self-reflect on their behavior and participation for the past week. They also write a glow (something they did well) and a grow (something they can improve upon). This can be printed as two to a page, in order to save on paper and ink.
