This is a great multi-day project where students will work on many skills that are needed in 7-9th grade math. They will work with percents, buying, debt, graphing and many other skills that are helpful not just in math but in the real world. Valentine Math: Circle Graphs
Students will create Circle Graphs (which they will later turn into hearts) and give them to their favorite teacher in the school.
Students will first fill in a decimal/fraction/percent/degree chart using the candy from a box of candy hearts. They will use this information to create a circle graph. Students will then turn the circle into a heart and write a message on the back of the heart for their favorite teacher.

Desmos Drawings Functions Project | Algebra 1 and 8th Grade Math | End of Year!
This is a wonderful multi-day project I have used for the past two years with my 8th grade math and honors Algebra 1 students! Transformations by hand and with graphing calculator
This project has students first draw a fish on the coordinate plane. Then they reflect it over the x and y axis, translate it, and then dilate it. The purpose is for them to see what happens to the x and y coordinates. The second part of the project is to have students use a graphing calculator such as the TI-73 to do the same thing. STEM Bobsled Olympic Lesson
Students are to work in groups or pairs and design a bobsled. Students will be provided with a toilet paper role, two popsicle sticks, two pipe cleaners, and 1 foot of masking tape. If students wish to brings small things from home, that is okay. Allow students to think through their design. Allow a trial run, and then allow modifications for improvement after the trail run. Graphing Pictures Summative Project Task
I used this project as a summative project task. Students are given an image to recreate in Desmos. I had them submit via a Google Form, but I unlinked it in this doc so you can make your own. Make sure that know how to use the correct link in desmos so that they don't lose all of their work (I had a few students not listen and copy and paste directly from the search bar, which is just a blank graph). My students LOVED this project! Edit the rubric to fit your needs.
