Parallel and Perpendicular Lines Project
When teaching anything, students have a tendency to shine in other ways than that of the traditional pen and paper test. This project was used in place of a traditional pen and paper test. My students created a bird house for their chapter project that covered parallel and perpendicular lines and planes. They had to design their houses from scratch, making sure that the bird they selected could actually live in it. They came up with blue prints, calculated surface area, and even wrote an ess

Parallel Lines and Angle Relationships City Design Project
I have used this project to help students learn about parallel lines and angle relationships formed by parallel lines cut by a transversal. You can use it as an internet activity with dragging icons and lines onto the page on page #5 or a paper copy activity on page 4 and page 6. It's really fun and interactive for all students. Geometry Project - Geometry Town
Students will create a town map made of different geometric figures. They will demonstrate their knowledge of parallel and perpendicular lines, acute and obtuse angles, geometric shapes as well as many other geometric concepts through this creative and fun project.
This project can be adapted to higher level geometry courses and high school classes. You can add parameters to the geometric shaped buildings (ex. must label the dimensions of the building given a certain area or perimeter).

The students will decide the landmarks in their city and then construct the city based on the stipulations set. Parallel Lines and Transversals Slides and Mini-Book Foldable

City Design Project
This project was used in my high school Geometry class after direct instruction of transversals, parallel lines, corresponding angles, etc. This was used as an assessment and student were encouraged to use their notes. Student work was displayed around the classroom until the end of the unit. The sticker file I have included can be printed on sticker sheets or on plain paper and then glued to their project sheets. If you do not use sticker paper then edit the instruction accordingly.

In this activity, students will just focus on designing their city and applying the vocabulary from the parallel lines cut by a transversal foldable.
