I used this with an 8th grade student with receptive/expressive language disorder. His vocabulary was significantly below grade level and he had difficulty acquiring new vocabulary taught in sessions and class. When we got to words he did not know, we would look up definitions and he would choose which strategy he wanted to use to help him remember the definition.
