In this project, students will design a geometric garden, calculate area and perimeter of each of the shapes in their garden, and then decide what they will put in their garden, and cost it all out using the internet or sheets you have printed off from the internet, and/or local sale papers. Depending on their level, they may calculate volume as well (if they decide to use mulch, gravel or other bedding at a certain thickness. Number Lines: Nice for Rounding, Skip-Counting, Adding/Subtracting

This file contains number lines that show groups of ten. The number lines included are as follows: 10 to 20; 20 to 30; 30 to 40.....up to 140 to 150. I have also included blank number lines to be used as needed. Number lines can be used for many different number skills (counting, skip-counting, adding, subtracting, etc.). I used this document to help teach the skill of basic rounding to my young students who needed to see which "round numbers" were closest to any given number.

Integer Number Lines

This is a simple integer number line set. On the first line are the numbers 0 to 60 (by 2). The second line are the numbers -30 to 30 (by 2). On the last line are the numbers -60 to 0 (by 2). There are many number-line generators out there, but all want to do one type of line multiple times, so I just created my own and thought it would be good to share!

Students will create their own color by number activity using the editable directions included. The directions provide a checklist for the skills that need to be included in the project. An answer key is also required. My students LOVED this project which we used to review skills from the first part of the year after winter break, especially when they got to exchange color by number activities with classmates, providing for a fun time of solid math practice.

This is an interactive notebook flip chart. Students cut on the dotted lines and glue into their notebooks. The glue goes under the words "Algebra Properties". This is easy to make modifications to in a Word document. In my class we write a short definition and example under each tab. The "Algebra Properties" is easily removed and it is vertical when actually uploaded.

This is the follow up activity to the previously posted "What Things Cost Pets" Internet research project. I have found that these are good Friday activities for my 12th grade Economics students. The students will begin the "What Things Cost" activity on a Friday - it will be due the following Friday. We will spend a good portion of time on the Friday due date working on this "Follow Up" activity. Sometimes it takes the entire 50 minute period for the students to walk the room and find out what

I use this assignment with my students to give them practice with writing inequalities using real world scenarios, evaluating them for specified values, and graphing their solution areas on number lines. I try to encourage my students to think through each problem rather than get too focused on practicing a specific skill. In this assignment, I do that by having students perform multiple tasks for each question.
