Scaffolds to Support Long Division by 2 Digit Divisors (Standard Algorithm)

I created this for my students with disabilities, ENL students, and students who need a visual representation of how to divide using the standard algorithm. I print this double-sided and place in a plastic sheet protector for students to use with a dry erase marker. They keep it in their folder all year to help support them if needed while dividing. This is great to differentiate or support student learning.

Sticky Note Long Division Strategy

This is a strategy that I learned about awhile ago, but needed some way to explain it to parents so that they can use the same strategy at home. Students can keep this handout in their math journals to reference and it's also a nice go-to for classroom teachers who may have not heard of this strategy before! The strategy really helps kids go one step at a time and line up their numbers as the move through long division equations using the standard algorithm.

In this organizer, multiple representations of linear functions are displayed in a succinct and connected way. I use this document to help students "frame in" the learning goals, summarize lessons, create a useful reference, and develop sense of function by repeatedly focusing on all four faces(tables, graphs, equations, and situations.) I also find this document useful for planning.

Help focus your curriculum on big ideas. This framework is designed to accompany and guide the study on linear functions. We know that multiple representations are a key to communication and algebraic power. These guides provide a solid foundation for the rest of your curriculum and are ready to go day 1. I also have a free organizer sheet available for download that you may find helpful. Best of luck this school year! These frameworks have been powerful tools for my students. They support con
