I used this as a quiz -- students had to decode the message "Once upon a time in a far away land..." and then for extra credit they get to finish the sentence. I got some really fun endings and students were excited when they decoded the message correctly. I've attached my work to show how I originally encoded the matrix. This could easily be modified to be turned into a project or another activity.

This is a quiz suitable for grade 11 students in the exponents unit. This quiz asks students to simplify exponential expressions, change from radical to exponential expressions, and evaluate exponential expressions. Large fonts mean improved readability, to reduce confusion, and each question is noted with a mark value. I would be happy to create a version without this, if required.
