Systems of Equations Loop Activity

Created by
Molly Perkins
Students will solve systems of equations using the following methods: graphing, elimination, substitution and matrices. Each card has a question with the answer to a different question at the top of the card. Students will find the answer on a different card and tape the question and answer together forming a loop. Students like this activity because if the answer is not there, they know they did it wrong. This is a perfect activity for review over a unit in solving systems of equations.

This is a quiz that will quickly assess your student's understanding of evaluating function. There are 4 different quizzes, 4 questions each. I have used this in the past as a pre-test to see what the students know, as a ticket out the door quiz, or a re-looping quiz when they didn't do good on the material before. Whatever you need it to be, it will work for you! The 4 different quizzes are on one piece of paper because we are usually on a paper shortage where I teach.

Creating Equations from Patterns

This is an animated presentation to show students how to recognize a pattern and create/solve an equation representing it. I originally made it to go along with some worksheet packet about block patterns we were using at my school. Generally I've found that most students understand the basic concept without having it explicitly taught to them. Creating the equation is something that some of them aren't 100% clear on at first, but with a little explanation (usually getting another student to e

This is a set of 3 different worksheets and a quiz that I used to re-loop or reteach compound inequalities. The first day includes a small area for notes and reminders about "and" and "or". It is a great way to practice with the students, then assess their progress on the material. After each test, I re-loop the materials that the students did not do well on. This topic was completed as a 3 days of warm-ups and then a quick 4 question quiz that I could use to assess whether their average o
