Evaluating Expressions Loop Game

This is a great 20-25 minute activity which allows students to explore and work on their own or with a partner. This works well for English Language Learners too. There are two methods which can be used, the preferred method is to print this activity 8 pages to a sheet, so all the slides onto one sheet. Run off a class set and then cut each sheet. This allows each student to have their own little set of cards which they can manipulate and move around. They work the problem on one card, and t

I have... Who has...? Cards Small #s with scientific notation

These cards are a quick review or guided practice resource for middle school math. Students read their card aloud. The person with the answer then reads their card. If the students have answered them all correctly, the last question should be the answer given by the first person, circling it back around. This structure has been called Learning Loops or Ask and Answer as well. This can also be used in a math center. Each person in the center can have multiple cards. There are 27 cards total.

This is a quiz that will quickly assess your student's understanding of evaluating function. There are 4 different quizzes, 4 questions each. I have used this in the past as a pre-test to see what the students know, as a ticket out the door quiz, or a re-looping quiz when they didn't do good on the material before. Whatever you need it to be, it will work for you! The 4 different quizzes are on one piece of paper because we are usually on a paper shortage where I teach.
