I found that the a lot of my student have mastered the whole "you put one picture in front of me, and I touch it" phase, but weren't actually paying attention to the pictures - just hitting whatever what in front of them. Voila! A two choice mini book, which is still probably small enough to fit on your key ring. Now if they don't look at what they're touching, they won't get what they want - a good incentive to look! I arranged them with a whole bunch of tab choices for you, so you can easily

Action pictures for sentence building is a SAMPLE set of everyday actions with real life photos. An action is the movement of a person or an object. This set focuses on the basic sentence pattern of Agent + Action + Object. Use the AAC Semantic Symbols which go with each photo. The use of Semantic Symbols is a strategy to help students identify elements in the photo & provide a clue for building a sentence in sequential order. For that reason the target photo remains as the action. There a

This reader's theater is for the entire class! You will need at least 11 students but more is always better. This ties into my other twisted fairy tales except that it was written to do as a class. I split my class into two groups and both groups practice. When we perform we discuss what things we liked about each group. I use this to introduce the small group reader's theaters I have them do the rest of the year. I have also come back to the script at the end of the year to perform in front of

Need help teaching a child correct speech sounds like the /t/ and /d/ sounds?!  This worksheet is JUST for you! Is your child VOICING or DEVOICING?! What is voicing? Voicing is a phonological process (pattern of speech errors) that happens when the tongue is in the correct position for the targeted sound production; however, the vocal cords are turned ON, instead of OFF, hence, VOICING the sound. An example of this would be "dake" for "take" or any of the examples on this worksheet! DEVOICING i

There are a couple of activities you can do with this. I included question cards for most of them (I didn't have room to include them all and still stay under the 10 page limit for free products, so for who, how, and why I just typed a list of the questions instead of making the cards) because I know lots of people will want to just use these to match questions and answers. The other option, which is honestly the one I think is more important, is to teach what the question words themselves actu

I came up with this game for a group I have at my school working on s-blends. They are Kindergarten age and I loved incorporating print awareness, letter knowledge, and phonemic awareness in the activity. I made strips and attached magnets to use on a magnet board. You can laminate the strips so the kids can use dry erase markers to write in the missing letter. For example, put a strip on the magnet board and point to the picture. Ask the child "What is this a picture of?" If they say it incorre
