I created this chart so that my students can effetively find the area of shapes! Visuals are provided for how to decompose a trapezoid and kite, students would then use the above formulas to find the area for both of these shapes. This resource is great for...: *test/quiz prep *accomodations *a refresher/guidance while students are working Please leave me a review if you are able, thank you so much! :)

The three key concepts of the Polygon Angle-Sum Theorem are outlined on these notes. I gave them to my students as a study guide before a quiz and the Chapter test. It shows the formulas to solve for the sum of the interior angles of a polygon, the measure of 1 interior angle of a regular polygon, and the measure of 1 exterior angle of a regular polygon. The students that had difficulty remembering which formula applied to different practice problems benefited from having these examples in fro

Surface Area

This activity guides the learner in finding the surface area of a 3-D object (cube). TLW classifies the 3-D object by labeling its edges, faces, and vertices. Then, given dimensions and a visual representation of the net of a cube, TLW calculate the area of each face and sum the total for the cube's surface area. I use this resource as an interactive math journal activity for my alternate middle school math class, but it can be used as differentiated notes, quiz, or for reinforcement or review.

This is foundational, and its purpose is to build students up and feel successful with the distributive property. If they didn't get order of operations or area models, that might happen here too. One of the texts is a translation of a treatise on conics by Apollonius, the next one is a 19th century modernization of the Elements of Euclid, and the final one is a "Practical Geometry" focusin
