Calming plan example: Using tools at the right time to decrease missed academics

This calming plan is for explicit teaching when one of your students asks multiple times to leave the room in order to access tools. Assuming that there has been extensive teaching around using tools and identifying emotions, there comes a time when it becomes appropriate to lessen the amount of academics that are missed. When that time comes, this visual can come in handy. Every student is different, but this is a visual I created for one of my students. I hope it is helpful to get ideas flowin

Rating scale for impulse control and leaving the group plan

I created this rating scale for students who tend to go into their own world, and struggle with inflexibility when following a group plan. This visual gets the conversation going, and helps to decrease shut-down behavior. It allows the adult to gather more information instead of making assumptions around why the student "left the group." I hope you are able to get the ideas flowing with this!

When I was teaching OCS Math I struggled to find any pre-made assignments that went along with the curriculum I was expected to teach. In particular, reading schedules was a topic that was very scarce. I have created several assignments that are based on reading everyday schedules and there are multiple questions attached to each. This particular assignment is based on reading an Airline Schedule; it has 2 sets of questions attached. These can be used as a classwork assignment or quiz/test.
