This bundle will give you a guided PowerPoint and a worksheet to practice writing scientific procedures. Students will think about how to write quality procedures when designing an inquiry experiment. The question is "How does colored light affect plant growth?" They will not actually be performing the experiment (unless you want to), it is just a scenario to get them practicing procedure writing. It follows the Washington State End of Course Assessment criteria for writing a procedure.

This is basic matter and chemistry information. Each part is a couple of days to a week-long worth of activities. Students can use this as a flipped classroom lesson. These can be adapted from 4th-9th grade I would say since science depending on the state will hit many of these terms for state testing. Adapt to fit your

Other terms used for this process include: Carbon dating, radiometric dating, and absolute dating. In this hands-on activity, your middle school or high school students will gain a greater understanding of how to calculate radioactive decay and half-life through the use of candy or pennies. Students simulate radioactive decay by shaking a box containing candy that began "letter-side-up" and as the candies "decay," they remove the candies that have flipped to "letter-side-down".
