About the store

I have taught for 26 years in a variety of grade levels and socio-economic levels. I have also worked as an elementary and secondary school counselor. I'm currently working as an education specialist at my local Education Service Center. I have a B.S.I.S. from Midwestern State University, a Master's in Technology Integration from Nova Southeastern University, and a Master's of Education in School Counseling from Lamar University. I have also worked as a Campus Technology Integration Facilitator, and have presented at local, regional, and state conferences. I enjoy working with peers and students! They both provide new sets of challenges.

Benefits and Uses of Spelling Contracts with Example

Contracts are an easy way to differentiate spelling. Contracts can be used with any spelling list. My students do not all have the same list, so contracts work out great for differentiation. With the contract students MUST have a goal of 4 activities for an A. Take home book bags are plastic bags with a collection of books inside that can be “checked out” by students. They are a great way for students to bring literature home on subjects they’re interested in. I used them in kindergarten and second grade, but the idea can be used at many elementary grade levels. Teaching style

I used a variety of teaching styles in my classroom. I employed the use of many products, as well as, contracts, layered curriculum and activities menus. I think a good balance of teacher direction and student choice is beneficial to student learning and achievement.
